Mid-Senior Network Engineer - DNS/DHCP and IP Address Management- 2nd Shift - Tuesday - Saturday, 3:30PM - Midnight)



Center City Philadelphia



PCN is seeking a Networking Professional with knowledge of IP Management including but not limited to DNS, DHCP, IP address management tools, Active Directory/ITAM, ISDN, VOIP, routers, private networking (MPLS), mixed equipment environment including but not limited to Wintel/Unix and appliance based technologies.  This individual must be able to not only manage IP addressing and associated equipment but must be interested in working with emerging technology such as IPv6 and must have an understanding of IP best practices and  ITU standards.


Duties and Requirements

  • Must  be able to work 2nd shift, Tuesday - Saturday, 3:30-Midnight
  • Experience in deployment and troubleshooting for DNS & DHCP configuration and service interruption issues
  • Responsible for software upgrades and patches on various nodes in the network
  • Provide technical information and support for customers (internal and external) via an operations support desk
  • Make  use of the support systems to access, track and manage customer requirements
  • Provide engineering support for all IP related issues to include Internet, MPLS,  integrated T1s, VOIP, ISDN
  • Stage, configure, install, document, and troubleshoot next generation equipment
  • Work closely and effectively with customers, vendors, and fellow employees in a multi-tower environment to provide superior service
  • Experience in managing a ticket queue providing thorough documentation of all work performed including request fulfillment, troubleshooting, and resolution efforts
  • Scope of work includes management of global Enterprise class customer IP addressing requirements including remote sites
  • Weekends will be required to accommodate customer change windows

Education and Experience

  • 2+ years network engineering or IP Address Management
  • Bachelor’s degree a +
  • Experience with IPAM management tools such as QIP, BT Diamond IPControl, BlueCat Networks Proteus, EfficientIP and InfoBlox is a plus
  • Working knowledge of appliance technologies for the IPAM providers listed above     
  • Knowledge of Active Directory
  • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
  • Cisco or MS Certs highly desired
